  • 9 Nov 08 - Dee's begins the Vendée Globe, the only non-stop, round-the-world sailing race for single-handed sailors. Starting and finishing from Les Sables d'Olonne, France, it's one of the most challenging tests of individual endurance there is and the ultimate goal for all solo sailors. Dee will spend around three months alone at sea, facing some of the toughest sailing conditions imaginable, most notably in the Southern Ocean. She cannot draw on external help, such as customised routing or weather information, over a journey of approximately 21,600 miles.

  • 1-2 Nov 08 - Monty speaks at the Dive Show, NEC, Birmingham.

  • 23 Oct - Congratulations to James Brickell on winning what is known as the 'Oscars of Wildlife Filming'. The BBC series 'Life in Cold Blood' won the prestigious best of festival award ('The Golden Panda') at Wildscreen. It was up against the best wildlife series from across the world. James celebrated with Sir David Attenborough and the other three producers.

  • 15 Oct 08 - Dee arrives in Les Sables D'Olonne, France, for final preparations.

  • Oct-Dec 08 - Tarka and Katie-Jane will be on expedition in Africa. As part of the project they are raising awareness for the charity Re-Cycle - an African project (supported by Raleigh) to collect and ship second-hand bikes and spare parts to Africa. They are still available to speak during this period - call us to check availability.

  • 3 Oct 08 - Dee and Dame Kelly Homes launch the Carnegie Centre of Sports Performance & Wellbeing (Leeds).

  • Autumn 08 - James is filming an exciting new wildlife series with TV presenter Steve Backshall.

  • 12 Sept 08 - Geoff's autobiography launched at the Southampton Boat Show.

  • 6 Aug 08 - Dee races in the Artemis Challenge with decathlete Dean Macey onboard.

  • 28 June 08 - Dee sails 'Aviva' in the Round the Island Race (Isle of Wight)

  • 30 May 08 - Boxing legend Frank Bruno MBE honoured inspirational yachtsman Geoff Holt with this year's REGAIN Tetraplegic Achievement in Sport Award. The charity REGAIN is dedicated to improving the independence of people who have become tetraplegic (severely paralysed) as a result of a sporting accident.

  • 27 May 08 - Champagne in Boston! A jubilant Dee crossed the finish line of the Artemis Transat race. Dee said: 'I'm over the moon to have arrived safely in America. My main aim was to get to Boston - Aviva and I are here and I'm feeling very proud. I'm exhausted and elated at the same time - racing just takes every last emotion out of you. I'll never forget this, it's the first solo race I've completed.'

  • 11 May 08 - Dee begins the single-handed Artemis Transat race. From Plymouth (UK) to Boston (US) this is a demanding race against prevailing winds. Even in summer, the fleet face huge storms and strong winds. Near the Newfoundland coast, icebergs may threaten. The best ocean racing skippers will compete.

  • 21 Mar 08 - After falling through the ice, Hannah is forced to call off her attempt to be the first ever woman to the North Pole solo and unaided. Until next year...

  • Feb 08 - Hannah attempts to become the first woman to travel to the North Pole solo and unsupported from Ward Hunt Island, Canada - the toughest route previously completed by Pen Hadow. No woman has yet succeeded.

  • Jan/Feb 08 - Hannah features in BA magazine 'High Life'.

  • Jan/Feb 08 - Monty will be filming a 90 min feature for the History Channel during select weeks in this period.
